Blog 2 week of 9-26-11

Not only did the environment affect people during Katrina, but it affected people in other ways as well. First of all, it gave the rest of the world this responsibility to donate, to give, and to help. It was an automatic obligation because we are all part of the United States, hence the word "United." I think it was great how people helped and funded, yet we can still help more today. It also affected the government during the time of Katrina and after because they were forced to make decisions. George Bush's skills were tested during this time. It was a major event in history, and the President's decision making played a big role. Hurricane Katrina obviously effected the individuals, the families, and the communities- especially those who were already in poverty. It affected them majorly because they were the ones who did not have the resources to evacuate, so it was another slap in the face for them that they were truly economically doomed; and mentally. It was an unfavorable realization of many people's unshift-able placement in society. Katrina effected people in literally countless ways.
