One way to look at history is "a culmination of all the events in every place in the world throughout time." It is quite useful and helpful to define the word history. However, I wonder WHY it is important to learn about history. We know what history is, but why bother learning about it? We can learn the facts of our history and our ancestors, but how is that significant and meaningful in our lives? I think it is valuable to learnI because we should be educated on not only what happened in our country, but in other countries as well. Therefore we can prevent the things that did not work out for people, and continue the things that ran smoothly. Also, it helps us have a better view and approach to life if we learn about others and learn about our environment, so we are more knowledgeable and accepting to more things around us, rather than never learn anything besides what you know about yourself. The word history is rather easy to define, although why it is important to study is something I will continue to discover and also wonder about.
